We couldn't have had a more captivating morning than the one spent with Lauren Singer. Lauren is known to be, as New York Mag puts it, a "practitioner of a light-footprint," living a zero-waste lifestyle... and that means, basically, she can fit three years of her own garbage into a single 16-ounce Mason jar. We went into the day with a million questions, and just as we suspected, living a zero-waste lifestyle means never having to take out the trash (consumption results in recycling & composting)... and that's something we are on board with.
Lauren makes her own deodorant, body lotion, & toothpaste, buys second hand clothing, eats locally, and buys products and produce without packaging. There is minimal to no plastic consumption, leftovers are in glass containers instead of Tupperware, and coffee on the go is in your favorite jar, not a Starbucks cup . The list goes on...
The Simply Co. is a zero-waste company Lauren started that makes and sells products that are good for the environment, and good for you.
