WHO: Karin Haas
WHERE: Upper East Side, Manhattan
Meet Milwaukee native & artist, Karin Haas, whose UES apartment greeted us with an openness & simplicity that we dream to incorporate into our own living situations (maybe one day.... "when we're older"). We wanted to get an up-close look at Karin's art, so were thrilled when she let us stop by to check it out and see what it is she's working on for her upcomming art show. Karin is a full-time artist, composing graphic & juxtaposed prints with the use of pastels, watercolors, & pencils- pulling inspiration from architecture, and fashion designers like Jacquemus, Lemaire, and Dries Van Noten to name a few. More often than not, she doesn't pre-plan or sketch out her art...they are not prints made digitally, but they are in fact intricate drawings commonly colored in distinct and intricate color-pencil-patterns.
